It is Sunday a.k.a. Wine of the Week Day! Yay! For those of you who missed last week’s posts, every Sunday (with the help of an expert) I will introduce a wine worth trying. After all, sometimes wine selecting can be more than a little overwhelming. So check out last week’s intro and suggestion before reading about today’s wine. Then visit North On Harper every Sunday for a new selection!
Okay, let’s get down to business. I have conferred with resident sommelier, David Foss to bring you this week’s pick- and it is a good one! The wine is the Huber Grüner Veltliner Obere Steigen, 2008 from Austria. Unfamiliar with a Grüner Veltliner? This is a white wine typified by its light, peppery flavor and is good compliment to a variety of food. In the words of David, “The wine reminds me of my first girlfriend: its young, fresh and not yet jaded.” Give it a try!
