I think there are a few things you should know about me. I don’t have a favorite color. I am an accomplished swimmer, but am petrified of boats. I am convinced snakes are evil and I HATE domestic chardonnays. Seriously, I would rather stick my tongue in a fireplace than consume a glass of a domestic chard. Call me a wine snob, call me what you will, just don’t pour me a glass.
David, our friendly neighborhood sommelier feels the same way. So much so that I can’t even type what he said about domestic chardonnays (we may talk a lot of alcohol, but this blog is PG). However what he said about the 2009 The House of Independent Producers “La Bourgeosie Dionysus Vineyard” Chardonnay, Columbia Valley, Washington is much more flattering. According to David, “It is crisp, clean, refreshing and unoaked. One of those anytime wines you can pop and enjoy on its own any day of the week.” And for $10 even I will give it a try!
