The Shirt Off Your Back

Sometimes I wake up and nothing looks good on me.  I literally mean nothing.  So the idea of coming up with some chic outfit to run around town in is completely confounding.  And fortunately/unfortunately, my mother did not raise me to run around in my pjs (or anything that could be confused as such).  So there I am, still standing in front of my closet.  No closer to getting dressed than the US is to fully embracing alternative energy.  Sigh.

However there is an answer.  And some how it is universal.  Ready for it?  The shirtdress.  Yep.  It is that simple.  First off, there are about a million versions of the shirtdress.  There are preppy looks, military, safari… you name it.  Second.  The dress has character itself.  From pocket details, to cuffs and buttons, you don’t need a lot of accessories to make this look interesting.  Plus, it is simple.  You pull it over your head, grab just about any pair of shoes and go!  Voila!  Want to add additional details?  Scarfs, tights and necklaces are all great options.

Have I convinced you?  Still think there isn’t a shirt dress out there for you?  Check out some of the styles below, you may be surprised…
