Spring Fashion Trends (Part 1)

Do you remember my dear friend Jessica Wenger, celebrity stylist extraordinaire, from the post Dress To Impress?  Well, she is back!!!!  This time with her favorite spring trends.  And she has so much great info that we are going to do this in two parts!  So be excited!!!!!

Trend 1: Maxi Skirts

We are talking long sleek skirts that go all the way to the floor.  The look is sleek and sophisticated.  Look for knit skirts that come in a rayon or spandex blend (think leggings).  On top you can wear a romantic blouse or even a basic tee!

Shop These Looks:

  • Bailey 44 “Who’s That Lady” Skirt ($108), Nordstroms
  • Splendid “Knit Maxi” Skirt ($84), Nordstroms

Trend 2: Floral Accessories

We’ve discussed florals before here on North On Harper (Blossoming Anew), but Jessica reminds us just how great they can be in accessory form.  Think headbands, shoes, bracelets, rings or even cardigans.

Shop These Looks:

  • Lavish “Beaded Flower” Ring ($80), Cusp
  • Deepa Gurnani “Flower Cluster” Headband ($38), Cusp
  • Winter Kate “Floral Print Tamarin Silk” Cardigan ($195), Cusp

Trend 3: Oxford Shoes

Why should boys have all the fun?  These shoes are popping up everywhere- and rightfully so:  They are a great alternative to ballet flats!

Come back tomorrow for 3 more great trends for Spring!

  1. Love the floral top!

  2. Happymother says:

    Great taste!!

  3. I love the Oxford shoes…..always did and so excited about them making a comeback. Also fan of the long skirts since I am not 20 or 30 anymore.

  4. I’m excited about the floral prints and accessories!!!!! the oxfords look VERY comfortable…but a little boyish for my momma style…but then again they’re more practical than heels!

  5. Not really a fan of the maxi skirts, but I do like the florals & the oxfords (paired with some more girly things, like maybe florals :) to balance out the look). Can’t wait for spring & summer!

  6. I love them all. But, I do not believe that I was made for maxi skirts. I’m short, but I would love to know if anyone has any suggestions on how to make it work. I’m not giving up on them.

  7. Hmmm, not sure about the Maxi Shirt. My big fashion contribution was this:

  8. loving big florals this spring.
