Wine Of The Week (23)

Are you excited?  You should be!  Because it is Wine of The Week!  WooHoo! Yay!  Can you tell I am excited about this week’s wine?  Well I am.  And that probably has something to do with it being a prosecco- and I love a little bubbly.  I love this suggestion from David (our sommelier), because it feels like the perfect way to usher in spring after a particularly intense winter (okay, may we don’t get snow here in LA- but we had torrential rain for about a week!).

So as not to keep you suspense, the suggestion is the Nino Franco Rustico Prosecco, N.V., Veneto Italy.  Unlike many of its counterparts this is not an overly sweet prosecco.  Instead, David describes it as “very refreshing with notes of peach and toast” (yes, he said toast, as in bread… I double-checked the description!).  At the link above it costs about $18, but I have seen it elsewhere for less. But even at $18, David assures, “It is really yummy for the price.”

(As always, please feel free to send me any special wine requests and I will be sure to have David address them!)

  1. Sounds nice! One of my goals for the year is to learn more about wine.

  2. I’m visiting from FTLOB … and yay, did I land on the right blog!! I heart me a yummy wine, white preferred, so love this wine write-up. I’ll check it out for sure :)

    Happy Sunday!
    Maegan :)

  3. Aw, I wish I could try it! I can’t drink wine or bubbly. :( But enjoy it sounds lovely!

  4. That sounds like a lovely bottle of wine. I always look for a good bottle of white wine for entertaining.

I live in the Okanagan Valley among many wineries so I am bit spoiled with our local world class wines, but I always love to try different regions and countries.

  5. LOVE THIS! It sounds like a great bottle!

    Im here from FTLOB!
