Sheer Joy

This week I have big plans to change out my closet (see Closet Case for my completely OCD method).  And as I put away the wool sweaters (okay, I live in LA- I own like two) and thick tights (my legs are looking a little pasty), I can’t help but think what new articles of clothing should take over their closet real estate.  One trend I do plan on investing in is sheer elements.  Let me be clear- sheer does not mean vulgar (so relax mom!), but it does suggest light, airy and effortless.  And as always, I have amassed some fantastic examples!

Petalled Cloud Tank ($44.99),

Layering clothing adds personality to an outfit and this blouse is perfect for doing so.  Wear a tank underneath and add a blazer on breezy days.

Obakki Beckon Long Dress ($282),

This dress feels very sophisticated.  Throw on a skinny belt and some wedges for a chic day look.

Awake Couture Sheer Lace Blouse ($78),

I love this blouse’s shape.  I’d pair it with some shorts and platform shoes.  For me, it is the epitome of effortless cool.

Firefly Rendezvous Ivory Lace Dress ($55),

This dress is truly darling.  Just look at the lace and sweetheart neckline.  It is an idyllic party frock for the times when you want to embrace your femininity.

Wink Geneva Silk Maxi Skirt ($198),

This is the perfect brunch skirt.  A pair of cute flats, a t-shirt, a cross-body bag and you’re out the door. Simple.

  1. Oh how I’d love to make that sheer skirt mine!

  2. I love the sheer lace blouse!

  3. I really like the sheer maxi skirt, but I’m afraid that it is a little to young for me. Oh, to be in my twenties again. LOL! Although, I wonder if I could pull it off it the shorter skirt was a little longer?

    • I think the skirt actually may be cuter if the short part were slightly longer…. I think it is such a fun trend, because it feel much more risque than it actually is!

  4. I am going sheer crazy right now! To the point of overboard. Love this trend. :-)

  5. All these pieces are so beautiful! Great choices!
