Easy Memorial Weekend Wear

(For the next few weeks you will see a bunch of guest posters appearing on North On Harper.  Don’t worry—they have been hand selected for their knowledge and great personalities (these are good traits when you aren’t being set up on a blind date!).  Plus, I will still be posting as well as reading and commenting along.  First up, Mary Jo of Trust Your Style.  I love this fashion blogger/designer’s keen eye for all things chic.)

A long weekend! Sigh. Don’t you just want it to be easy and breezy? Here is my ideal weekend wardrobe. Don’t let the prices scare you–all of it can be sourced much more affordably…but if I were to splurge on one thing it would be the Stella McCartney pale pink over sized blazer.

What do you plan to wear this weekend?

Clockwise: Stella McCartney twill blazer $1,725; Jason Wu silk blouse $550; Kenneth Jay Lane Turquoise Bamboo Hoops; Furla Handbag $495; Karen Kane cargo pants $65; Miu Miu leather sandals $490; Beaded Max and Chloe bracelet $185;

  1. Looks comfy and cool…especially the Buckys!

  2. It’s a long weekend but unfortunately I have to work.. :( On the bright side, you just gave me an idea for my outfit choice for tomorrow. Relaxed blazer with some cropped pants <3

    I love how you added a starbucks frap to the collage.

    It could be my outfit. I love this style. Hope to find these earrings!!!

  4. Thanks Alexis for having me! It was fun putting together my ideal weekend wardrobe…now if only I could justify that pale pink blazer! Hope you have a wonderful long weekend!

  5. I love the blazer: the soft, feminine color and the masculine feel of the oversized cut: always a great combination. The wide legged pants are also an inspired choice for the summer. Is that a caramel frappuccino, Mary Jo? I feel like getting into my car and heading off to Starbucks right now. :)Ada

  6. Love the laid back yet super cute feel of this outfit.

  7. Gorgeous post!
    Love this look, especially the pants and sandals!

  8. I love Mary Jo – she is the epitome of chic – and so nice!! I’m not even remotely surprised that I love all of her great picks. That fabulous Stella blazer has been on my wish list all season! And I just love Miu Miu shoes (and bags)!! Have a great weekend!!

  9. Great blazer! I never know what I’m going to wear until the day off. I basically wake up and think of one item I want to wear depending on what I’m doing or any events I’m attending and style around that item. Here in Houston, I’ll probably end up changing my outfit 2-3 times in one day because it’s so hot

  10. Great collection Mary Jo! I love the loose tan pants and floaty blouse, but it’s a style that I can never get to look “right” on me. I think the big problem is the pants – I can’t find them large enough so they actually float correctly. Perhaps this will be another sewing project?

    I have no idea what I’ll be wearing this weekend as my wardrobe really needs an injection of summer staples!

  11. Love Mary Jo’s picks. The trousers and earings are great find and the outfit looks so casual and chic!
