Keen For Khaki

I grew up in Atlanta and in high school the guys had a sort of uniform that consisted of khaki pants, un-tucked polo shirts and shaggy hair.  It was (how shall I say this?) rebellious preppy.  It was such an unattractive style (can you even call it that???) that it turned me off from any form of khakis for the last decade (wow, did I just date myself?!).  But, the wounds have healed and now I see khaki with a fresh set of eyes.  Which is a good thing, because it is everywhere.  My favorite versions?  Unexpected shapes and/or paired with bright colors!

  1. love those wedges!! probably not safe to chase after children in…but better than stilettos!

  2. My boys have to wear khakis to school…booooring! But, I am really liking these choices. I love bold statement items, but also rely on neutral pieces to keep from looking like a mismatched stylish reject. Lol!

  3. I’ve always loved khakis: such an easy way to look put together!

  4. I like fitted khakis. I don’t like khakis that are required for a job…ick…lol

  12. I have lots of khaki colored jackets (too many acutaly) but no bottoms. Still I love the look, especially the safari jacket look. Which reminds me I really want a khaki safari jacket…

  13. Ooo I love the outfit with the yellow top! Khakis are so versatile – great with any colour and for any occasion really! Nice, comfy alternative to black dress pants

  14. Okay, I am a huge fan of the Cynthia Vincent top! I may have to enter the NOH Does now.. I have been staying away from entering in order to give others the chance to win, but I think i might have to do it again! Even if it’s just to prance around in some khakis 😉

  15. PS I have to confess, I found the shaggy haired, khaki and raggedy pique polo thing really adorable in HS… especially if they had on those Clarks Wallaby’s! Dang that WASPy upbringing!!
