I’ve said it before, but it bears repeating, I LOVE resort collections. I feel like designers use this time to figure out a bit of who they are as well as exploring their long term vision for their brand. This often means taking risks and stepping out of their comfort zone. This is true of the Bottega Veneta’s Resort 2012 Collection. During the seasonal collections there tends to be a throw back to decades gone by. And there is nothing wrong with that! I love vintage inspired looks. However, this collection seems a bit fresher both in palate and in style. With that also came an ease, because despite even the chicest of looks, there was a throw it on and go theme that seemed to travel through this collection.
There is youthfulness to this otherwise grown-up coat. I think it is the play between these feelings that makes it a winner. The key is not to go too youthful in accessories or the coat loses some of its sophistication and just becomes cute.
I love this. The dress is sexy with the body conscious style and the leather motorcycle is tough. The woman who wears this look must be utterly confident, because there is a lot of power here!
This look feels a little Chanel to me. Come on, you know what I am talking about! But if you read NoH, you know I love Chanel (see here)! The fit of this look is ultra feminine, accentuating the female curves. And who doesn’t like an hour glass shape?!
I admit it. I could have just picked one of these looks to showcase. But I couldn’t decide! Yes, personally I would be more inclined to wear the look on the left, but the right one is a ton of fun. This is what I was talking about when I mentioned the ease in Tomas Maier’s designs.
Seriously?!?! This dress is like Samurai warrior meets – well I don’t know what’s hot pink, but whatever the amalgamation, I love how fresh it feels. This outfit makes a statement and will turn heads- for all the right reasons!
