Wine Of The Week (37)

Don’t forget to enter our fabulous PUMA giveaway!!!!!

I hope everyone is having a lovely 4th of July weekend- even if you aren’t in the U.S.!  David and I consulted on this week’s wine and decided that to go along with all the fun daytime activities we needed something “white, crisp and delicious.”  The solution? Tenuta Le Calcinaie Simone Santini, Vernaccia di San Gimignano, 2010.

This wine is great for complimenting the fun summer fare because of its drinkibility and bright flavors.  As David explains, “it is fruit forward, but not sweet.”  Meaning that you can taste fruit in it right away, but no sweetness.  So go ahead- get a bottle! After all it is a free country! (Okay, you can’t get a bottle if you are under 21 and it is going to cost about $17, but you know what I mean!!!).  Have a great holiday weekend!!!!!!

Confession: I couldn’t find the label from the proper vintage, so this one will have to suffice!!!

  1. I tend to stick to the same New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc, so it’s great to get another summer white recommendation. Thanks for this!

  2. I tend to like less sweet wines, so this one sound pretty tasty, fruity without the excess sweetness. Thank you for the recommendation!

  3. It comes from my country, so i am very proud of it!
I also suggest an “Amarone tenuta Masi!!

  4. Tonya Renee says:

San Gimignano is a very nice area. It’s been a while since I’ve had their wine. Time to go shopping!
