NoH Does: A Nod To Navajo

The fun thing about this week’s NoH Does is that it wasn’t limited to fashion.  All that was required was a little bit of Navajo inspired print.

So, when I got an email from Shelley of the blog Random Stuff By SAM I knew I was in for a treat.  Shelley is always creating some beautiful from the everyday as well as sharing her lovely photography.  I love that she uses many found objects as well as other upcycled items.  She has two Etsy shops: SamsStuff and ShellsEye.

This is an example of her unique creations that fits perfectly in with this week’s NoH Does!  This is a wall hanging made from a Navajo inspired fabric. It is the embroidery and the beadwork, as well as the stamped lizard that contribute to capturing that Southwestern feel.  Clearly Shelley has an eye for detail and authenticity.  Check out her Etsy stores for more of her creations or her blog for some inspiration for creating your own.

If you are interested in being featured in next week’s NoH Does please be sure to check out the topic on Monday!

  2. I love her goodies and her designs – and I love the fact that is ‘hand made’!

  3. I am all about anything that is Navajo right now. ASOS had a fabulous dress online….and of course anything Marant. It is just so fresh.

  4. Very pretty….looks like lots of work went into those.

  5. yay, glad someone submitted!! I love the pieces.

  6. Thank you, Alexis & everyone who commented! The fabric is actually vintage (70’s), upcycled from an old top (I’ve turned everything but the sleeves, into a peplum, vest style top).
