Lounging In Lincoln Center

Okay.  The title of this post is completely misleading.

The word lounging suggests basking in the sun as I propped myself against the fountain.

This was not the case.  Have I mentioned the rain in NY? Yeah,  it hasn’t stopped.

But I did hang out there for a bit yesterday evening.  And, as the official site of Mercedes Benz Fashion Week, I thought I would give a glimpse of what it looks like—before becoming overrun by fashion enthusiasts.  It is sort of one of those semi- magical places that only becomes more spectacular with a little rain and the right amount of moonlight…

Even as an adult I am still in awe of fountains (did you see my photos from the Koblenz,  Germany fountains?!).  I got my friend Jay to partake in the photoshoot,  because I figured you would get sick of random fountain shots.

In these photos everything looks slick,  shiny and new.  Of course five minutes later the rain came POURING down! (PS– bonus points if you can guess the red-shoed blogger/dear friend in the last photo)

Have you visited Lincoln Center?  What is something very “common” that you find mystifying?

  1. I have never been to the USA – but plan to go one day hopefully not in the too distant future. I also have a fascination for fountains! :)

  2. I absolutely love the second and last photo. Stunning.

  3. Alexis, these are beautiful shots of Lincoln Center. I hope you are enjoying yourself! Happy one year birthday btw–it’s a big milestone! As for lounging, haha I’m sure your feet are rolling their eyes at the word–fashion week is all about being on your feet–but you can sleep later, right? Thanks so much for your kind comments about my new line (and my waist–so not a size 0) I really do appreciate it!

  5. I never visited NYC or Lincoln Center, but it is on my “very near future” list……gorgeous snap shots.

  6. Love fountains too. I’m in New York next week so hope the rain stops. Last year it was lovely and hot

  7. I haven’t made it to New York yet – maybe next year! Have a great, safe time :-)

  8. Ooh, sexy silhouette, Jay!

  9. I love this post. I think Lincoln Center is a really magical place too and I LOVE that you captured it here before the fashion. Who’s the red shoe blogger?!?!?!?!?

  10. It is magical! I used to live in the Big Apple!!
Candles and candlelight pictures are magical to me. I’m such a cornball. LOL

  11. Amazing. I’ve always been impressed by the amazing sites to see in New York. I miss Manhattan!
