Major Midis

You are running out of time!  The ToyWatch Giveaway ends tomorrow night!

This week I had the pleasure of partaking in Fashables: Fall Fashion Blogger Trend Report (be sure to check them all out!).  Mouthful- yes.  But it is actually full of info as well,  with 17 fall trends showcased (and explained!) by some great fashion bloggers (not sure how I made the cut!).

The trend I decided to showcase was midi length dresses/skirts:

Midis took hold this past spring and continues to go strong in to the fall/winter seasons.  In case you need specifics,  midis are skirts/dresses that hit just below the knee. You know,  not too long,  not too short– but just right!

There is something utterly classic about this length.  But don’t be fooled—just because a look is classic,  doesn’t mean it is boring.  Especially considering the many,  many forms a midi look can take!

Where To Shop:

  • Asos “Midi Dress with Frill Waist” ($73.18),
  • Robert Rodriguez “Oval Shape Lace Dress” ($595),
  • Halston Heritage “Pleated Skirt” ($375),
  • Asos “Midi Dress in Floral Print” ($82.33),
  • Marc Jacobs “Shimmer Lurex Midi Skirt” ($1109),
What do you think?  Will you be wearing midis this fall?

  1. I love love love your Midi and how you styled it with the textured top! That ASOS dress is also calling my name! :-)

  2. Thanks so much for taking part! Your contribution was fantastic.

  3. Congrats on making the cut, will check it out! I think midis are nice transitional pieces. I wore several during the spring and summer, and also planning on wearing various ones in different fabrics for the autumn season. This is a pretty photo of you, and I adore he textures that you have going about in your top portion of the outfit, (and what looks like a braided belt?) -xo :)

  4. i wasn’t sure how much i liked midi length dresses and skirts, but the ones featured here are pretty great. your dress looks wonderful as well. going to check out that trend report!

  5. You look gorgeous lady! Asos has some great midis on sale right now!

  6. I love that length so comfortable and I don’t feel self conscious when I sit down. Loving the outfit Alexis, it’s lovely. Congrats on being a part of the trend report!

  7. Honestly, I think I love the midi length best of all: it’s just right!

  8. Beautiful photo of you! I love how “floaty’ the fabric looks.

  9. You teach me so much! I didn’t know they had a name. But yes, I love Midis. For many reasons, but mainly because they are a classic look. I can spend $ on the dress I want, and wear it longer than just a season. Good to know it’s what’s hot!

  10. I love it on you. I love it on Kelly of the Glamourai. But on me? I’m not so sure. At some point in life certain styles just look frumpy. I guess I’ll have to try some on and see – but usually I like showing a little knee!
