Holly Golightly Turns 50

So apparently yesterday was the 50th anniversary of the release of Breakfast At Tiffany’s.  You know,  that little movie with some actress named Audrey Hepburn dressed in a black Givenchy?  The one that single handedly put the LBD on the map?  Yep.  That movie.

But,  it wasn’t just the perfect dress.  It was the pearls and the sunglasses as well. The whole image of Holly Golightly dressed to the nines made Breakfast At Tiffany’s such an iconic fashion film.

Well I may have missed the anniversary.  But that doesn’t mean we can’t celebrate it!

So in honor of the film I have picked a few of these signature items for your viewing pleasure.  Just with a bit of a contemporary twist…

After all,  if Holly Golightly window-shopped then we can certainly do the same!

Were you inspired by Holly Golightly’s personal style? What is your favorite iconic fashion film?

  1. Of course my fave dress is the most expensive. But all are lovely. Love that movie. It’s timeless.

  2. this is an ingenious post! what an iconic movie <3 i would have to say that or Charade might be my top 2 fashion icon flicks :-)

  3. I think you need that ASOS Ponti Pencil dress.

  4. they are so beautiful. I would love them all. Such style.

  5. Love the movie (more than the book actually – I think it ends better :-) I need that top pair of sunglasses and simply *all* the dresses!

  6. You’re not going to believe this but I went to look at, and buy, the ASOS dress, and it’s sold out in every size!!!!

Bummer. I think it might have looked good on me.

Love the movie, but what I really loved was her. Essentially she was playing a prostitute, but you’d never know would you?

  7. What a wonderful way to celebrate Hepburn style!

  8. O.M.G. !! I love, love, love that last dress!!

  9. I just watched that the other night!! irony… 😛
