I am always excited when I find something new and innovative—and even more so when that something has to do with fashion and even more so if it boggles the mind (I like my mind boggled every now and again!).
This mind boggle begins with Anke Domaske who is both a fashion designer and a biochemist. Anke incorporates milk fiber (yes, that is fabric made from milk) in to her designs. Let’s call it milk fabric.
I will give you a moment to digest that.
Where were we? Oh yes. Milk Fabric. What makes this especially amazing, (because milk fabric is so passé having been invented in the 1930s) is the fact that Domaske has found a way to do this in an eco-friendly manner!
Unlike its predecessor, Anke’s formula cuts down on time and water needed to produce this fabric. Even better? There are absolutely zero chemicals. Even better—better? She only uses secondary milk that cannot be sold in grocery stores. Amazingness. Right? Right.
Domaske’s fashion line is called Mademoiselle Chi Chi and she has begun to include the rather impressive milk fabric (said to be reminiscent of silk) into her designs.
