Wine Of The Week (60)

I know.  I gave you an Italian red wine last week.  So why am I doing it again this week?  Well, because this is a totally different wineLa Mondianese ‘Baby Barb’ Barbera D’ Asti 2009 comes from the Piedmont region and blends the old and the new.  The barbera varietal has a lot of history and is one of the most popular grapes in Italy.  However, La Mondianese wineries use very new production using a stainless steel barrels in the fermentation process.

David describes it as an “everyday drinking wine, with notes of almond and cherry. It is very light with only a touch of acidity.  This is the kind of wine that you can drink quite a bit of without paying the price later.”  Speaking of price, well at $10 a bottle that won’t cost you much either!

  1. What an interesting label! I love how there are so many unique and beautiful wines out there.

  2. I don’t know this one, but I can easily find it in Italy so I will check it out!

  3. I Love wine reviews! It seems we have a lot in common!

  4. What an awesome colourful label!

  5. Is it bad that I usually chose wines based on labels alone? This label is fun, I would buy it.
