Cynthia Rowley F/W 2012 RTW

I am a little bummed that I can’t be in New York right now.  But when I say that life is crazy, I mean it.  I mean it.  I would get into it, but it isn’t the time.  When is the time?  Hopefully soon.  But we’ll see…

Back to New York and Fashion Week.  And more specifically the Cynthia Rowley F/W 2012 Ready-To-Wear Collection.

The collection really felt like it had a clear perspective- I could see all the looks coming out of the same woman’s closet.  Someone who definitely has the urban downtown feel that I’ve come to expect from Cynthia Rowley.

Rowley described the collection as being inspired by “Mechanics, cobblers and leathermen. Welding, oil slicks. Women artists making big, strong work.”

What do you think of the collection?  Do you see the strength that inspired Cynthia Rowley?

  6. I love it! Especially the last one of the top three, and the first two on the bottom. The inspiration she describes really shines through.

  7. my favorite is the third row third picture however it just she seems so emaciated that it takes it away from it that i can’t just get into it.

  8. I’m a fan of that skirt in the top right..

Have you been to New York Fashion Week before?

  9. Very interesting. Her description of the inspiration makes perfect sense. I’m almost reminded in 80s “power suit” when looking at these!

  10. That leather top is incredible and I love that blue jacket. Yes it has a cool yet warm kind of urban-ness about it…
