Doo.Ri For Macy’s Impulse

I always like to keep up to date on the designer capsule collections that become available.

They are great for 3 reasons:
– They introduce designers to the mainstream.
– They make chic clothing more accessible for the masses.
– They raise the bar in mass market fashion.

The Doo.Ri for Impulse at Macy’s is no exception.  The pieces feel fresh and more cutting edge than the average fair and most of the pieces cost well under $100.

For those unfamiliar with Doo.Ri, this is a design house worth getting to know!  Doo-Ri Chung is a Korean-American designer who is known for her perfect drape.  She has been garnering attention from the fashion world since winning the 2006 CFDA’s Swarovski Perry Ellis award for emerging talent in womenswear.

The Doo.Ri for Macy’s collection hits stores on February 15th (get a sneak peek on now!) and I can’t wait.  The grey maxi dress will be finding a home in my closet!

What do you think of the collection?

  1. I’ll definitely be checking this one out. I’m thinking the quality of a Macy’s collab would be a bit better than Target or H&M, but I guess we’ll see.

  2. For a while I’ve been trying to stay away from Macy’s but between Karl’s collection for Impulse and this recent addition for Doo.Ri, I’m seriously changing my opinion! That Maxi can certainly find a place in my closet.

  3. Agreed. The gray maxi is to die for. Perfect for my Spring-Summer-Fall wardrobes!

  4. I’m liking the colors with the piece on the end..

  5. The grey maxi is beautiful. I love the colors of all of them!

  6. Hello Alexis Grace! I haven’t had time to catch up on all the Spring Fashion shows yet glad to hear that Chanel’s runway was on a jumbo jet :) Love the doo ri line, especially love the red and cream coloured coat. Hope this will be more of a hit vs. the lagerfeld line, that stuff didn’t sell as well as macy’s had anticipated! Thank you for stopping by, love your blog and wine of the week? Love that feature! Genius!

  7. Super classy. Love it. THe perfect drape. Oh. So lovely.

  8. Those are beautiful pieces – loving the dresses :)

  9. I am scorned! We don’t have Macy’s in Italy!!!

  10. Very nice! Love the jumper and the grey maxi is fabulous….

  11. LOVE that red and white coat. So awesome!

  12. I have never heard of this House. Love the shoes in the first picture.

  13. I love the style and wish could wear those clothes the way they do. I am really short and have a hard time finding things for me.

  14. Oh my gooosh, I hadn’t heard about this one. I’ve been a little bored with capsule collections until lately (Jason Wu for Target has revitalized the concept for me). Doo.Ri is definitely going to be next on my list. I love her aesthetic – and I agree, the label really doesn’t get the attention from mainstream consumers that it deserves, so it’s great that Macy’s is bringing it into the light!

  15. I love that maxi dress! I might just have to give it a home too!

  16. that maxi dress! I die!!!

  17. Very cute! Sometimes you have gems in your csleot that you forget about, I’m notorious for that. I see you are a thrifty shopper like myself. Nice way to add color to a print dress as well.
