Wine Of The Week: Firriato Etna Bianco

I took off last Sunday.  I’m sorry.  Sommelier David was on vacation (actually here in LA!) and I was just overwhelmed with life.  And between the two of us I figured a break was in order.  But, Wine of The Week is back!

Now down to business with the Wine Of The Week!  David’s pick is the Firriato Etna Bianco 2010.  This white wine is made from Carricante and Catarratto grapes.  David describes the flavor as “a little smoke and melon.”  And if you’ve ever had prosciutto with melon, you know that is a good thing!  The bottle runs about $22.
