Final Florals: How I wear them!

Well a week of florals has all cumulated here.  That’s right.  This is where I show you how I wear a flower pattern.

Now I have to admit, I RARELY (read: almost never) wear floral prints.  But this top worked for me because the colors are subdued and the pattern doesn’t feel too intense.  The skirt is actual the more dramatic piece due to the color and volume.

I paired this floral Rebecca Taylor top with a vintage satin maxi skirt (via my grandmother’s closet), pewter flat sandals (that you can’t see), a pewter clutch (liberated from my mother’s closet) and vintage jewelry (what can I say, I like old stuff!).

My youngest sister played first time photographer (I think she did a good job!) and we shot the photos among some of my mother’s hydrangeas (remember them from Monday’s post?!).  All and all a fun little photo shoot!

  1. Love these shots! So pretty!!!

  2. I rarely wear florals too, but I think you did a fab job with this top. Love it paired with that long skirt. Your sister is a good photog!

  3. Love! And the skirt is fabulous too! Love how it’s from your grandmother’s closet. And your sis did a great job. Loved getting to see these pix :)

    Have a great weekend! xoxo

  5. Fun shoot with the sister! I love the outfit. Long pretty skirt and gorgeous comfy top. Love the color choices :)

  6. Awesome, love that you raided your grandmother and mother’s closets too. Oh and I really like the detail on the back of the floral top.

  7. Oh you look fabulous (I always say you should post more shots of your outfits, Yay!) Loving the florals with dusky pink of that gorgeous skirt, that is a colour from another time…wonderful

  8. I like the top too. Not an intense pattern at all. Great style, as always!

  9. Lovely photos! Clothes, accessories, setting, and of course model. *And* an obviously excellent photographer :-)

  10. I don’t think I’ve ever seen pictures of you! How gorge! Love it want more of it!

  11. I love that outfit! It’s gorgeous and the skirt really balances out the pattern. You look gorgeous!

  12. I am a fan of florals, but I do understand some prints can be a bit overwhelming. Gorgeous look on you and love the charming printed top.

  13. How pretty! Your sister did well! Love the skirt and floral blouse, so elegant! Hope your weekend is going well!

  14. SO cute Alexis, and I really love the long skirt + liberated pieces are the best ones I think! I like the navy/peach pairing too–it’s really pretty for spring/summer. Your sister did a great job!

  15. Wow lady, you look gorgeous! I love the mix up with the satin skirt. Stunning.

  16. Yea! Alexis personal style post! So nice to see your pretty face. Love the outfit you put together too. Your sister did a great job with the photos.

  17. Sis did a GREAT job shutter-bugging, as did you by sharing your personal style with us! I love how modern you’ve made that skirt look, so the best of Calvin Klein or Jil Sander in the stark simple but dramatic appeal. The shirt is pretty fab- I see a circa 1970’s Laurel Canyon California babe rockin’ it, and you’ve made floral less frenzy and more f-in amazing.
