Lush Landscapes

Friday I shared that I have made my way to Atlanta for some rest and relaxation with the family.  I also mentioned that I find Atlanta particularly inspiring.

A lot of that inspiration is drawn from the outdoors.  The city is a very lush green environment something that I have always appreciated after spending many years in Los Angeles (aka the desert!) and now in Chicago’s urban jungle.

I wanted to share some of the images that inspire me.  These photos are taken from around my parents’ yard.  Now, to be fair, my mother has quite the green thumb and loves planting in the spring and summer, so not every yard in Atlanta has quite the varied plant life.  But, the saturated colors, the varieties of green?  Those you can find all over the city…

A little photography inspiration:

Tell me, what is inspiring you?

  1. Gosh …. what amazingly clear and descriptive photographs. What a beautiful garden your mother must have. I am inspired every day by the beauty of Gods creation in things as simple as the plant life!

  2. I can almost smell the fragrance of those flowers! My mom’s garden looks a lot like that. I wish I were coherent enough to be inspired, jet lag is kicking in and I’m feeling the need for sleep at the moment :) Hope you feel better in time to enjoy Atlanta!

  3. ooh these flowers are gorgeous :-) I miss the rich gardens of warmer climates, I hope you are having a fabulous time at home – you deserve the R&R!

  4. What beautiful blooms! I love Atlanta!

  5. Very inspiring! My parents really want to do a trip to Atlanta this summer, not sure if I can get time-off, but let me know if you know of any great places for them to check out. I love these images. Get some rest dear. xo

  6. So odd that we both wrote about something that inspires us today. Nature is always inspiring, and I’m sure I would find my particular outdoor surroundings a little more inspiring at the moment if they looked like those amazing photos you took. Seriously, they are gorgeous and you should get some prints made up of them and hang them on the wall because they would look absolutely stunning. Here, however, it is rainy and sad.

  7. Nature is definitely inspiring to me. I love being reminded of all the beauty that exists in the world. Atlanta does look lush and lovely. I would be happy to sit quietly in a garden filled with such beautiful blooms for a long time!

  8. I defintiely need to get away too.. citty life is overwhelming and yes atlanta is gorgeous.. Ive been there a lot and always love it!

  9. Welcome to the south, darlin’ 😉

  10. Beautiful! I hope you have a great time.

  11. Magnolia, and Hydrangea and Gardenia, all some of my faves:)

  12. Too beautiful! I am green with envy :-) {And inspired to *plant*!}
