There is something about California Cool style that I miss here in the Midwest. Don’t get me wrong, Chicago has its own chic sensibility, but I didn’t fully appreciate laid-back interpretations until after leaving. (Something about how absence makes the heart grow fonder?)
The Jenni Kayne Resort 2013 Collection really captures the feeling that I am pining over. Short suiting is brought new heights with the short lengths SoCal ladies love, leaving typical conservative tweed looking fresh and youthful. The mosaic style colorful pattern found on some of the pieces screams Baja and who would love those relaxed blazers? I would be remiss if I didn’t mention the dresses- both the midi and the mini have a simplicity about them that suggests the wearer has it together and doesn’t have to work hard to get that way.
What I like most about Jenni Kayne’s pieces is that they are relaxed without looking messy. There is still a sophistication that allows these pieces to transition outside of California’s beach cities and into closets everywhere.
Tell me, what do you think of the Jenni Kayne Resort 2013 Collection? Are you craving California cool?
