From Navy Pier

Rainy days make some of the best days for touristy activities.  Yesterday was one of those days.  And while I have shared many photos of Navy Pier these were taken from the end of it looking out onto Lake Michigan and back at a portion of the city.  I love the quiet of these images.  Because of the weather I didn’t have to fight crowds to get my shots and the moody rain added something special to the photos.

Looking at the city of Chicago from this perspective has a magical sort of quality.  It was special to share the view with Lukus and my mom, knowing that this was a moment of quiet in an otherwise hectic life.

How was your weekend?

  1. Magical. Looks like you’re worlds away from everyday life!

  5. Beautiful photos, Alexis! I’m not sure if I’ve already told you this, but my college was only three hours away from Chicago, and I would visit a lot. I miss it SO much! I thought about moving there, but I just can’t do winter anymore. I’m glad I live vicariously through you!! 😉

  6. Gorgeous! Sometimes rainy days make the best pictures. My engagement pix took place on a rainy day and they were incredible. :) xoxo

  13. Lovely photos! Love the mood you’ve captured and that last image, with the green and white contrasting with the greyish colours, is very artistic.

  16. I grew up near the water and these pictures remind me of those years. I still love time on the water (river, lake, ocean, doesn’t matter). Thanks for the pretty pictures and reminding me of happy times. Also, CONGRATS on your growing addition!
