When I think of A.L.C. I can’t help but think of great separates. And I don’t just mean separates that fit into your already existing wardrobe (although, they will), but the go to pieces you want to pair with everything because they just feel/look so good. Designer Andrea Lieberman, may still be young to the design world (debuting in 2009), but she already has the pulse on what today’s modern woman wants and for me, the A.L.C. S/S 2013 Collection is just further proof.
What makes A.L.C. pieces your favorites? Great interpretation of modern staples is one answer. For example, black leather has been popular for the last few seasons. But instead of producing the same pants over again, Lieberman reinterprets the look adding just enough interest (detailing at the hip, slight flare at the ankle and a white stripe down the side!) to make the pants feel fresh and unique.
Another favorite-making element is the fantastic fit on Lieberman’s pieces. Having developed her design sense both in her New York boutique as well as styling key fashionistas (Kate Hudson, Gwyneth Paltrow, Gwen Stefani- need I go on?!), Lieberman seems to understand the shapes and cuts that truly flatter a figure and what translates from runway to street.
Clearly I consider A.L.C. a great ready-to-wear brand. But now you’ve gotten a chance to check it, let me know, what do you think of the A.L.C. S/S 2013 Collection?
