Oh I am sorry, did you think the NoH Fashion Week coverage was over? Of course not! After all, New York isn’t the only fashionable mecca. London Fashion Week is underway and I thought I would start my coverage with the Matthew Williamson S/S 2013 Collection.
Do you like color? How about intricate details? Then this collection may be for you! My favorite element was the tribal feel of the incredible beadwork. The amount of detailing was amazing, but didn’t leave the collection feeling overworked or overwhelming. Instead, the pieces felt fun and vibrant. Perfect for a vacation or making a statement at home.
Another element used successfully in the Matthew Williamson S/S 2013 Collection is the painterly effect that seems to bleed down in a rainbow of colors. If you’ve been a fan of the ombré trend that has permeated fashion over the past few seasons, than this is for you! It feels like a fresh interpretation of the look that I am sure will makes lots of people happy.
Normally a collection with this much going on would turn me off. But, by pairing many of the pieces with soft lady like blouses (and styling with simple hair and makeup) a level of sophistication is achieved. Nothing gimmicky or forced here!
So, what do you think of the Matthew Williamson S/S 2013 Collection? Does it make you smile or give you a headache? Could you see yourself wearing these eye-catching pieces?
