Belly Update

I wanted to explain my general absence over the past few weeks.  Yes, I have posted, but not with the vigor of September.

While I don’t share every personal detail her on North On Harper, I do like to give you a general idea of what is going on in my life— especially as it impacts my blogging!

As most of you know I am pregnant.  I am due in December and had originally thought to do some check-ins to share my progress with you and even tie back into fashion (after all, I promised not to become a full fledged mommy blogger!).

In fact, that was exactly my plan for the first week of October.  Unfortunately I went into pre-term labor that week.  Thankfully, I live down the street from an amazingly fantastic hospital and they were able to stop the process.  This was HUGE because I was still 2 ½ months from my due date.

Since then I have spent a lot of time in and out of the hospital and at home on strict bed rest making sure baby doesn’t come too early.  Things picked up again on Halloween and the doctors have opted to keep me in the hospital since then just to be safe.

SO, that explains why maybe I haven’t been posting at quite my normal frequency!  I hope you can forgive me!!!!

And, while I typically like to put myself together before I share a photo, here’s one taken in my hospital room…. Just so you can see how GIANT my stomach has gotten!! (Sorry that I look like a hot mess—exhaustion has already set in!)

Don’t worry— I promise the fashion will be back this week!  Okay, maybe not on me (at least I ditched the hospital gowns), but here on North On Harper.

  7. As much as I want you out of that hospital, I do think it would be fun to share a birthday with my Fairygodbaby. Am loving all the belly laugh pictures. You are adorable in the great pumpkin shirt, but would love to see what kind of fashion getup you could rig out of those stunning hospital gowns.

And people, Alexis has been one incredible trooper through all of this. It has been an ordeal to say the very least. She has handled it like a champ.

    Love you,

    Fairygodmommy

  10. Alexis, I’m glad you’re letting us know how you’re doing. I hope the baby stays in there for as long as it needs to! Right now blogging can take a back seat to you and your baby’s health!

Sending you my best and positive wishes! xo

p.s. you look adorable with your belly!

  11. Alexis, you are beautiful no matter how you look. Your beauty comes from the inside and it shows on the outside. Just take care of yourself and that sweet baby of yours. That is the most important right now. Keep strong….you are almost at the finish line :)

  12. Thank you so much for the update! I was worried when I heard you were on bed rest. Glad to know they’re keeping you in the hospital, though I can only imagine how much that would suck. I was lucky. Barely a day in the hospital before they kicked me out. I hope you’re relaxing and reading and maybe watching some movies on a portable DVD player, because let me tell you all that ends when the baby comes. It won’t end forever, but it’ll be on hold for quite a while.

    Much love,
    Heather

  13. You look so so gorgeous, stunning! Your hair skin, everything. Hope all is going well despite the scare! It is amazing what they can do these days, wow that was quite a process you went through, stopping labour. Hang in there beautiful Mum-to be!
