Lanvin Spring 2013 Ad Campaign

What happened when Lanvin’s Alber Elbaz couldn’t make it to a Lanvin Spring 2013 Ad Campaign photoshoot in New York?  He took on his Artistic Director duties from his offices in Paris via Skype!

If you haven’t seen this video yet, well then stop everything and watch it now.  Or you can just bookmark this post and check it out later…

Either way, you can’t miss the absolutely adorable Elbaz as he ooohs and aaahs over the work of photographer Steven Meisel.  From the perspective to the makeup, Elbaz is utterly enamored with the photoshoot and its results.

I think the excitement over the photographs just goes to show how much Elbaz loves what he does.  This of course translates into the labels loyal and far-reaching following.

But for me the greatest take away is the passion Elbaz exudes.  Who wouldn’t want to be in a job that they felt this excited about?!  Definitely something to consider when you start off each day…

Now my questions for you:

Don’t you find Alber Elbaz endearing?  And what do you think of the Lanvin Spring 2013 Ad Campaign?  Does it feel like “California at its best”?  Are you in a dream?  A cloud?

  1. Ha! That makes me smile. Don’t you just love technology? It makes me happy to know others love their life work. I’m hoping to be that blessed one day:)

  2. The woman at the very left side of the ad looks exactly like Hilary Swank in “Boys Don’t Cry.” I seriously did a doubletake! That is a beautiful ad.

  3. His reactions are too cute!!! But pretty great that he still got to partake via skype with thoughts on the photo shoot. We’ve come a long way.

  4. Thank you so much for sharing Alexis, this was fun to watch. He is interviewed in the Dress Up For program I have told you about, he shares how committed he is to his craft. It is nice to see someone who become so excited about their work.

  5. I have to say that I have two favourite spring ad campaigns: Reed Krakoff starring the sensual Laetitia Casta (such a full of emotions campaign) and Bottega Veneta shot by Peter Lindbergh (love the cinematic feel).

  6. I really adore Mr. Elbaz, and I am such a Skype user, perfect for business on the go! Great video, love how he’s so astonished by the shoot!

  7. I adore Mr. Elbaz, and such a Skype user. I love how astonished he is by the campaign. Great video.

  8. His clothes are so sharp and glam and I am loving that restrained blonde shaggy hairdo at right (I’m sure its called something else now)

  9. I agree with him… It’s very chic California but with a retro feeling… Love it!

  10. He truly is endearing. The collection is wonderful.
