A New View

Over the weekend Lukus and I finally had a chance to do a walk through of our new apt… empty and perfectly ours.

Unfortunately we won’t be moving in for a bit (our furniture is now making its way from LA after spending the last few months in storage).  But that doesn’t mean we couldn’t sit and plan layouts and figure out paint and other nesting type activities.

And, because my obsessions are North On Harper’s obsessions, you can expect to see the projects moving forward.

But for now, I want to brag.  Brag with the beautiful view from our new roof deck!

Glad the sun has once again risen over Chicago.

Tell me, how did you spend your weekend?

Last night was Fashion Night Out—did you do anything fun?

Here in New York, I had the pleasure of meeting up with the lovely Kristy Elena of Vogue Gone Rogue/Full Time Fabulous at the Sunglass Hut event on 5th Ave.  From there we visited the Omega Store (& partook in a glass of champagne!).  And finally we went to the Empire Hotel for a few cocktails with Kristy’s man Matt and friend Jonathan.

It was great to kickback,  to relax and most importantly,  to laugh—my show schedule starts today and I know things are going to get a little hectic.

Wine Of The Week (41)

It seems like a lot of the people in my life are on the precipice of something new.  And with all this changing going on it is easy to get caught up in the craziness.  So, with this WOTW (that’s “Wine Of The Week” to those of you unfamiliar with acronyms) I suggest you open a bottle, sit back and relax.  Take stock of where you are coming from and look fondly on where you are going to…

Onto the suggestion!!!!

David describes the wine as being “pretty” yes, I said “pretty.”  But I guess when you are a rosé that is “light and fresh, with subtle hints of florals and citrus,” there probably isn’t a better description.  This is the Olga Raffault Chinon Rose 2010and costs about $15.  It is perfect to serve with canapés, while taking the aforementioned personal time.   After all, you don’t want to do all that thinking parched and hungry!

Bohemian Beach Escape

This probably comes as no surprise, but it may be time for a getaway.  In fact, I may go so far as to say, I need a getaway.  Okay, maybe it isn’t life or death… but my brain, my brain would LOVE a getaway!

So I am stealing a page from Kristy (the talent behind Full Time Fabulous & Vogue Gone Rogue) and am imagining myself in some beautiful resort.  Kristy and I hang out, take in the sun and maybe enjoy a few tropical drinks…  I mean it could happen!  Right????

I went ahead and created an updated bohemian look that would be perfect.  You know, just in case….

Playing Hooky

Today is one of those days that would be best spent playing hooky.  It is actually a good day… things are going well at work, the sun is shining, Lukus is recovering from his surgery.  Just a good day.  So I want to celebrate by running away to the beach.  I want to plop down in the sand, play in the water, maybe do some surfing…. But alas, that is not going to happen.  I have projects due and Lukus has his surgery follow up appointment… another busy day.

Instead I will be relegated to staring wistfully at this photo.  I took it in Malibu during happier times (a few weeks ago!), when the beach wasn’t  a distant dream.

If you could play hooky today, what would you do?
