Diane Von Furstenberg Party Dresses

One thing bed rest has taught me is how much I appreciate time with friends and family.  This is especially true as we transition into the holiday season when time togetherness becomes so central.  From here on through the New Year soirees will be thrown and togetherness will be celebrated.

But it isn’t just the socializing I love. These parties are also a great time for dressing up—and I love to dress up!  There’s nothing like the perfect outfit to get you in a celebratory mood (that and a glass of champagne…).  And who doesn’t love Diane von Furstenberg party dresses for just such an occasion?

Diane Von Furstenberg Party Dresses:
-Noemi Satin Crepe Dress
-New Cindy Sequin Dress
-Kipling Dress

These Fall 2012 DvF looks are seriously some of my favorite holiday party options.  And while each is unique in style, I love the shared neutral, yet sophisticated color palette (the dress with the sheer sections actually has a bit of shimmer to them).  The black and silver lends itself to the holiday season and additional color can easily be added if you are looking for a little extra!  (But personally I think I would stick with the black and silver motif)

So tell me, which of these Diane von Furstenberg party dresses is your favorite?  And how would you style it?

Maison Martin Margiela For H&M (Part Deux)

About a week ago I introduced you to the upcoming Maison Martin Margiela for H&M Collaboration.  What excites me about this collaboration is that the label is recreating vintage pieces from the label at a more accessible price point.  How cool is that?

The house is known for its architectural pieces with dramatic lines that still feel clean and minimal.  The collaboration will feature both women’s and men’s pieces, as well as some fun shoes and accessories.

In addition to some of my favorite pieces, I am now able share the prices with you- how exciting!  Here are my personal picks from the Maison Martin Margiela for H&M Collaboration:

From Left To Right:
Oversize Dress, $129
Upside-Down Purse, $129
Hitched Up Dress, $199
Hair Lock Necklace, $13

Have I further piqued your excitement about the Maison Martin Margiela’s H&M Collaboration?  Remember, pieces hit store November 15!

Chic Fall Coats

It may be a little premature for coats in some places, but living here in Chicago I am definitely in that mental space.  And who could blame me?  When I lived in Los Angeles I rarely had an opportunity to wear a coat—let alone during the fall!  So I thought I would create a collection with some great coats for you to ogle.  Best part?  These are all chic fall coats for under $100!

Coats are great layering elements and can add so much personality to an outfit.  Confession:  historically I go for black coats, because they always seemed the most versatile.  And, because I only really wore coats 2 weeks a year (yes, that’s LA!), I wanted to make sure to get the most out of a coat.  But now that I am in a climate that requires more coat wears (even in the fall!), I wanted to add some interest to these finds.  So, not only did I track down chic fall coats for under $100, but not a single one is basic black!  Impressive?  I think so.

I won’t keep you in suspense any longer.  Here are my finds:

Chic Fall Coats:
C.Luce “Zip Coat” $99
Jack By Bb Dakota “Marty Hooded Jacket” $99
Tinley Road “Nutcracker Coat” $98
Tinley Road “City Side Zip Coat” $79
Bb Dakota “Cheyenne Coat” $99.50

What do you think of these Chic Fall Coats?

Black And Gold Fashion

From clothing to accessories, you can black and gold fashion finds seem to be popping up all over.  And that is perfectly alright with me as I love the combination (and not just because I am an embarrassingly diehard Steelers fan).  There is something regal about the these two shades together and who doesn’t want to feel a bit like royalty?!  Clearly, I am very excited to see the combination making such a huge impact on fall fashion.

One of the reasons I like the combination is the drama.  I am a big believer that metallics are neutrals.  Of course, black is a neutral as well.  But these neutrals have impact and strength.  And together they make a statement that is truly eye-catching.

But don’t take my word for it!  Take a look at some these Fall 2012 runway looks in this FabSugar video:

Now you too are hungry for black and gold fashion.  Aren’t you?  No need to be shy!  Because I have rounded up some finds to help you introduce this lux look into your wardrobe:

Black and Gold Fashion Finds:
Diane von Furstenberg “Colorblock Finger Gloves”
Alice + Olivia “Donnie Haircalf Booties”
Torn by Ronny Kobo “Casey Dress”
Mary Jo Matsumoto “Laguna Libertine Mini Wallet”
Belle Noel “Enameled Modernista Necklace”

So, are you sold on the black and gold trend?  Would you wear it in a big way or opt for a more subtle accessory option?

Nicole Richie For Impulse

I spent almost all of September covering high fashion.  But let’s be honest: that stuff doesn’t come out for another several months and even when it does, most of us don’t wear runway from head to toe.  So, I thought I would take a moment to look at the Nicole Richie For Impulse Macy’s Collaboration line.  As I have mentioned about a zillion times before, I think (when done well) collaboration lines are a great way to build out your wardrobe.

Richie has done a great job of transitioning from reality star to fashionista and I am a big fan of her House of Harlow jewelry line and Winter Kate clothing line.  This collaboration seems to do a great job of capturing her Boho meets Urban sensibilities and is full of fall rich jewel tones.  And with pieces ranging from $49 – $129 the prices is right for trying something new!

Here are some of my favorite picks:

The Items:
Short-Sleeve High-Neck Faux-Leather Textured Top
Long-Sleeve High-Neck Feather-Print Lace Dress
Sleeveless High-Neck Feather-Print Lace A-Line Dress
Sleeveless Scoop-Neck Faux-Leather Studded Mini Dress
Peacock-Print A-Line Handkerchief-Hem Maxi Skirt

Tell me, what do you think of the Nicole Richie For Impulse Macy’s Collaboration line?  You can check out the rest of the collection HERE!
